Sir Anthony Hopkins gave his Thor director Kenneth Branagh the confidence to portray acting great Lord Olivier on the big screen by telling the star all about his encounters with the legend.
Branagh was mulling over the idea of playing Olivier opposite Michelle Williams in My Week With Marilyn as he shot Thor - and he couldn't decide whether it was something he could pull off.
He says, "Tony had worked with Olivier himself.
"(He) knew him well, and had many war stories, many intimate observations of the way Olivier was, and that, to some extent, gave me the confidence to try and do it."
The pair worked together on blockbuster movie thor, which saw Branagh direct and Hopkins take on the role of Odin.
The movie has so far been met well by the critics and currently sits at the top of the UK box office.
