Anna Kendrick admits that she was surprised with the issues that What To Expect When You're Expecting tackled when she read the script for the first time.
The Oscar nominated actress is back on the big screen this week as part of the ensemble cast that brings the self-help manuel of the same name to the big screen.
Kendrick thought she knew where the script was going to go but found that she was surprised at the direction in which her character's story went.
Speaking at the UK press conference for the movie the actress said: "I was a little bit surprised as I thought I knew what the script was going to be when I started reading it so I was pleasantly surprised that they went some of the places that they did, particularly with our story line.
"I thought it was very candid and very brave to discuss some of the things that come up in such an unexpected situation.
"I just thought it was surprising that what is essentially a light film would go to those places and I just thought that that was very interesting."
What To Expect When You're Expecting sees Kendrick team up with an all star cast that includes Cameron Diaz, Chace Crawford, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks and Dennis Quaid.
And we are going to be seeing plenty of the actress on the big screen as she has lent her voice to ParaNorman and has completed work on End of Watch, Rapturepalooza, Pitch Perfect and The Company You Keep.
