Andrew Garfield has admitted that he just wants to be an actor and he has not interest in being a movie star.
However Garfield's star is about to rocket as he takes over the role of Peter Parker aka Spider Man in the re-boot of the franchise this summer.
It is a first blockbuster outing for Garfield who saw off competition of British and American actors during the casting process.
Speaking to Mylon Guys' magazine the actor said: "The exposure that's going to come with [Spider-Man] doesn't make me happy, and I've discovered that I do just want to be an actor - I don't have any interest in being a movie star.
"I'm finding out where that distinction is."
The Amazing Spider Man sees Garfield team up with Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Sally Field and Martin Sheen while Marc Webb is in the director's chair.
Garfield has slowly been making his name with movie like The Social Network and Never Let Me Go as well as TV series Red Riding.
The Amazing Spider Man swings into cinemas 3rd July.
