Andrew Stanton, the director behind last summer's animation hit Wall-E, has ruled out a sequel to the popular movie.
In an interview with MTV he said that he "never considers sequels". He went on to add: "I think that takes a lot of hubris to think that your idea is going to live on and on, and I always love the idea of something just being contained and done."
"I'm not against sequels, and I've certainly experienced personally and seen secondhand great sequels, but I don’t go in with that intent."
Stanton has had major success working on Pixar movies directing Finding Nemo as well as co-writing Toy Story, A Bug's Life and Toy Story 2 while he also produced Monsters, Inc. and Ratatouille.
Wall-E burst on cinema screen last summer and was an instant hit following a robot who is designed to clean up a polluted earth.
The film was a critical and commercial hit grossing over $521 million at the global box office. It has also enjoyed major success nominated for six Oscars, including Best Animated Picture.
Wall-E was also named Best Picture at the Boston Society of Film Critics, the Chicago Film Critics Association and, most notably, Los Angeles Film Critics Association where the animated picture tend to be overlooked.
He will next work on John Carter of mars for Walt Disney.
