Will Ferrell has admitted that plans for a second Anchorman movie have been put on the back burner.
There had been talk of a sequel for some time and it looked like Ferrell was all set to reprise the role of Ron Burgundy.
Speaking to Zoo magazine the actor said: "I thought we were doing it - I was told it was happening and now I've heard it's going to be too hard to get everyone together."
"Hopefully, Adam McKay [the director] will be able to talk to all the guys individually and see if we can figure it out."
Despite agreeing to return to the role the actor believes that they could never make a movie that was as good as the original.
"We don't think we can make it as good."
"It would be really fun to do, so we might just try to make the craziest sequel you've ever seen. It could be terrible, but if they're going to pay us to do it, then why not, right?"
The actor is turning to the animation later this year after lending his voice to the new Dreamworks project Megamind.
He is also set to join the all star cast of Samuel L Jackson, Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson in The Other Guys.
