Alan Rickman believes that the end of the Harry Potter should be celebrated because the story has been concluded so well.
The actor took on the role of Severus Snape in the series of movies that came to an end this summer with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2.
And while fans are sad to see the film franchise end Rickman believes that we should all be happy that it finished on a high note.
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times the actor said: "The point about a great story is that it's got a beginning, a middle and end.
"The ending of this story was quite popular and beautifully judged by Jo Rowling and [director] David Yates, so it's not a cause for sadness; it's a cause for celebration that it was rounded off so well."
And Rickman will be back on the big screen next summer with the remake of Gambit.
Directed by Michael Hoffman the actor will join forces with Cameron Diaz and Colin Firth while the screenplay has been penned by the Coen brothers.
