Alan Cumming is set for one of his most challenging roles after signing up to stage a one-man version of William Shakespeare's Macbeth in his native Scotland.
The Tony Award winner's adaptation will debut at The National Theatre of Scotland in June (12) before transferring to New York's Lincoln Center.
Cumming tells theatre publication The Stage, "I have been obsessed with the play all my life. It was the first Shakespeare I was in, at the Tron in Glasgow."
Despite taking on plenty of theatre work over the last twelve months Cumming will be back on the big screen next year with a whole host of projects in the pipeline.
He has already completed work on Maladies, Any Day Now and The Outback, as well as short project The Money Pet.
