Al Pacino has revealed that he is flattered when young actors call him a role model.
The actor has enjoyed a career that has spanned over forty years and included movies such as The Godfather, Heat and Scent of A Woman but takes being called a role model as a compliment.
In an interview with Total Film the actor said: "I'm very flattered to hear that, that compliment.
"I don't think of myself as anything but an actor struggling to find the next role and when I do get the role to try and see if I can find any way into it."
And while many of the industries young actors look up to the Oscar winner Pacino revealed that he learns as much from them as they do from him.
"With young actors I learn from them, just as hopefully I always will. If I were to advise them in some way I would say this is a craft that you just have to keep doing.
"Do it whenever you can and you shouldn't spend too much time dealing with the fact that there's a world out there with a lot of competition.
"You have to educate yourself. You have to read. You have to see things that are inspiring to you."
The Actor has not been seen on the big screen since Righteous Kill back in 2008, working on You Don't Know Jack for TV. But he will make his silver screen return next year with The Son of No One.
He is also set to star in Mary Mother of Christ and King Lear.
