Romance/war epic Atonement leads the nominations for the Empire magazine's movie awards along with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.Both movie have bagged six nods a piece including Best Actress and Best Actor for both films.Atonement finds itself in the Best British Film category with Hot Fuzz, Sunshine, Control and This Is England.Harry Potter has been nominated for Best Film with Zodiac, Ratatouille, The Bourne Ultimatum and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.Atonement, which is nominated for seven Oscar and fourteen Baftas, has already won Best Picture at this year's Golden Globes and now finds itself shortlisted for Best Actress for Keira Knightley, Best Actor for James McAvoy, newcomer for Saoirse Roman and Best Director for Joe Wright.Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the fifth book in the series, has also been nominated in the Best Actor, actress and director categories for Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and David Yaes as well as Best Sci-fi/fantasy movie.Katherine Heigl for Knocked Up, Angelina Jolie for A Mighty Heart and Cate Blanchett for Elizabeth: The Golden Age complete the Best Actress category.Joining James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe are Simon Pegg for Hot Fuzz, Matt Damon for The Bourne Ultimatum, and 300's Gerard Butler.

Readers of the magazine and website will vote for the winners and they will be announced 9 March at the Grosvenor Hotel.
