Aaron Johnson believes that his character in new movie Chatroom is a reflection of real life.
The Kick Ass star takes on the role of William in the Hideo Nakata directed movie as he seduces and manipulates people inline.
Speaking to Empire he said: "The subject matter was kind of going on quite frequently in newspapers and articles about profile pages and chat rooms - guys pushing each other to the limit and committing suicide and things.
"My character creates a chatroom as a therapy to undo his insecurities and befriends these guys. But he starts to slowly pick away at their weaknesses.
"And also I think when you are writing and you are in a chatroom and you are reading these things they are a lot more dramatic than just saying them and having a bit of banter in a playground.
"They are published and documented and there, and they grow in your mind."
It's been a successful few months for Johnson who shot to fame last year for his role as John Lennon in Nowhere Boy.
He has already had one box office hit under his belt in 2010 after Matthew Vaughn's superhero flick Kick Ass, a possible sequel is in the pipeline.
