Aaron Johnson is calling for more female superheroes.
The actor stars in Matthew Vaughn's big screen adaptation of Mark Millar's graphic novel Kick Ass this week alongside Chloe Moretz, who takes on the role of Hit Girl.
Speaking to Digital Spy the British star said: "Fantastic. You need a few more women superheroes and this is a young girl.
"She's the one who kicks ass really and that's what it's all about. It's good and it's funny."
Johnson was last seen playing the role of John Lennon in Sam Taylor Wood's biopic picture Nowhere Boy and he admits that it was the opportunity to play an 'amateur superhero' that drew him to the role.
"It is enjoyable being the anti-superhero. I'm this amateur superhero that's not quite as good as he wants to be.
"It's sort of a spoof on the Spider-Mens and Supermens. It's nice to be something different."
Kick Ass is out now.
