A Christmas Carol is back at the top of the UK box office ending Paranormal Activity’s reign of just one week.
It seems that movie goers have been in a festive mood this weekend as the animated version of Charles Dickens’s classic grossed a further £1.5 million.
It was to be the only movie that did break the £1 million barrier this weekend.
But there was a new entry at two in the form of Where The Wild Things Are, an adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s popular novel and directed by Spike Jonze.
The movie has finally reached the big screen after a whole host of delays and set backs, but it was well worth the wait.
The movie follows Max, a disobedient little boy sent to bed without his supper, creates his own world--a forest inhabited by ferocious wild creatures that crown Max as their ruler.
Planet 41 moved up a place from four to three while it was a three place slide for horror phenomenon Paranormal Activity which was at four.
There were no other new entries inside the top ten this week but there was a two place fall for New Moon from three to five and a one place jump from seven to six for comedy N
