50 Cent has dropped out of The Expendables, just a week after it was announced that he was joining the cast.
Music commitments have been cited as the reason behind the rapper quitting Sylvester Stallone's project, he had been brought in to replace Forest Whitaker after a schedule conflict forced the Oscar winner to quit the role.
The rapper's representatives told MTV News: "50 Cent was offered the role of Hale Caesar in The Expendables.
"However, as he is currently in the process of completing his forthcoming album Before I Self Destruct with Dr Dre and Eminem, he was unfortunately not able to commit to the project."
Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Jet Li are already aboard the film that will be written and directed by Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger is rumoured to be making an appearance.
Jackson made his big screen debut back in 2005 with Get Rich of Die Tryin' and he currently has five other projects, including 13, Dean Man Running and Streets of Blood, in the pipeline. But he is rumoured to be putting out two albums this year.
