50 Cent is just the latest name to join the cast list of Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables.
The role was originally expected to be taken by Oscar winner Forest Whitaker but a month long shooting delay on the project has caused a clash with other commitments forcing him to walk away from the role.
50 Cent, aka Curtis Jackson, will be joining Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Stallone and rumoured Arnold Schwarzenegger in the film that will be written and directed by Stallone.
Stallone told Ain't It Cool News: "The anger of the casting of 50 Cent is understandable, but not fair. A player is only as good as his coach.
"If a man can communicate in one medium, he can communicate in another if his strengths are brought out and he has the support of well-wishers. So, trust me, the change of Forest Whitaker to 50 Cent a.k.a. Curtis Jackson is a good one."
Jackson made his big screen debut back in 2005 with Get Rich of Die Tryin' and he currently has five other projects, including 13, Dean Man Running and Streets of Blood, in the pipeline.
