Chris Miller says there is going to be more action in 22 Jump Street.
22 Jump Street sees Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum reprise the roles of cops Schmidt and Jenko in the sequel to the 2012 box office hit.
The movie also sees Chris Miller and Phil Lord back in the director’s chair for the hugely anticipated sequel. And Miller has been dropping some hints as to what we can expect from the second film.
Speaking to Empire, the actor said: “We’ve put a lot more action in this one. That’s where a lot of the money has gone.
“Our opening sequence, which we shot in the Port of New Orleans, has a big 18-wheeler zooming around, cars exploding, our characters on top of the truck, a lot of wire work, and there’s been a lot of helicopter work. A lot.”
A great cast has been assembled for the film as Hill and Tatum are joined by Dave Franco, Ice Cube, Peter Stormare and Nick Offerman.
After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college.
But when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership. Now they don’t have to just crack the case - they have to figure out if they can have a mature relationship.
If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them.
22 Jump Street is released 6th June.
