Many streaming services are bringing out more documentaries and similar features lately, such as new Disney+ series Among the Stars which takes a look at the lives of NASA personnel; this November (2021), however, will see the release of 14 Peaks: Nothing is Impossible in both cinemas and Netflix.
The world is a beautiful, thrilling place, especially if you know where to look. Netflix’s upcoming feature will see a man try to break a very impressive world record.
14 Peaks will explore Nepal’s intricate connection to high-altitude mountaineering through Nirmal Purja’s point of view. Purja is a fearless, fun-loving climber from Nepal who is on an astounding mission; he plans to summit all 14 of the globe’s 8,000-meter mountains in only seven months, aiming to break the current record of seven years.
Accompanied by a team of experienced Sherpas (members of a Himalayan people living on the borders of Nepal and Tibet, known for their skill in mountaineering), Purja traverses Mount Everest, K2, and many other iconic peaks in the midst of extreme weather, deadly choices, and emotional baggage.
The forthcoming documentary is a thrilling, action-fueled tale about bravery, determination, and how far the limits of human endurance can be pushed.
We will see just how determined Purja and his team are, and how setting yourself a goal can motivate you more than you ever thought it would. Travelling the world is an exciting premise, but setting yourself the target of beating a world record for something so unique and challenging is a true testament to our curious nature.
The European premiere of 14 Peaks will be taking place at Kendal Mountain Festival, which is on November 19th, 2021; a special screening of the feature will occur in London on November 15th, 2021.
Stills taken from 14 Peaks showcase some of the feature’s most daring moments, with Purja at the top of a mountain touching the clouds, seeing the world stretch out beneath him.
14 Peaks’ trailer highlights both the fun, joyful times of Purja’s journey, as well as showcasing the dangerous, thrilling sided to his story.
14 Peaks: Nothing is Impossible will be in cinemas on November 26th, 2021, and will arrive on Netflix on November 29th, 2021.
