Michael Fassbender

Michael Fassbender

To say that Michael Fassbender has a busy start to 2012 is a bit of an understatement as we have already seen him star in two movies.

Yes Shame and Haywire have both hit the big screen and they are two projects that couldn't be more different from one another - the actor once again demonstrating his versatility.

He has a whole host of projects in the pipeline for the rest of the year and he has made the FemaleFirst Hot List because he is one of the most exciting talents around at the mo.

He mixed and matched his roles last year as he moved from the likes of X-Men: First Class to Jane Eyre and 2012 is going to see more of the same.

Fassbender saw his star really rise at the beginning of the year when his performance in Shame saw him pick up Best Actor nominations left, right and centre - sadly though he was overlooked at the Oscars.

And he will be back in another dramatic role later this month with A Dangerous Method.

The movie is directed by David Cronenberg and sees the actor take on the role of Carl Jung.

The film also stars Viggo Mortensen and Keira Knightley and is set to be one of the most talked about films over the next few weeks - mainly thanks to a couple of spanking scenes.

But this summer sees him return to the blockbuster as Prometheus is about to his the big screen.

Directed by Ridley Scott the movie looks set to be THE sci-fi moment of the year as the director returns to the Alien franchise in a roundabout way.

The movie follows a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe.

There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Prometheus sees Fassbender team up with Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce and Idris Elba.

There is also talk of a X-Men: First Class sequel in the pipeline and Fassbender is also set to star in Twelve Years A Slave.

Michael Fassbender really is one of the most exciting young actors around and the moment and his career is only set to go from strength to strength.
