We love a bit of Matt Damon here at FemaleFirst and he is back on the big screen this week with Promised Land.
This is the first time that we have seen Damon on the big screen since the fantastic We Bought A Zoo and it kicks off a busy year for the actor.
Promised Land sees Damon put his writing skills on show once again as he has teamed up with John Krasinski to pen the screenplay.
The pair also star together in the film while Gus Van Sant is in the director's chair. Damon had been scheduled to make his directorial debut with the film but brought Van Sant in at the last minute.
The movie is based on the story of Dave Eggers and follows two corporate salespeople who visit a rural town to attempt to buy the drilling rights from the local people.
This is not the first time that Damon has teamed up with director Sant after they brought Good Will Hunting to the big screen in 1998.
Damon and Krasinski are joined on the cast list by Hal Holbrook, Frances McDormand, Rosemarie DeWitt and Scott McNairy.
One of the Damon movies that is not to be missed this year as Elysium as he teams up with director Neill Blomkamp for the first time.
Elysium marks the return of Blomkamp's return to the director's chair for the first time since his huge success with District 9 and it is set to be one of the best sci-fi movies of the year.
The movie is set in 2154 where the wealthy live on Elysium, a man made space station, while the poor live in the ruins of earth.
Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley and William Fichtner are all on the cast list alongside Damon and the movie whipped up a bit of storm when it featured at Comic Con last year.
But it is not all about the big screen for Damon this year as he is set to move into TV with Behind the Candelabra.
The movie sees Damon work with Steven Soderbergh once again in what is supposed to be the director's final movie.
Behind the Candelabra follows the relationship between Liberace and his much younger love Scott Thorson - Douglas will play Liberace while Damon will play Thorson.
Damon has also completed work on The Zero Theorem and he is currently working on The Monuments Men.
The Monuments Men is the latest directorial project for George Clooney and is a big screen adaptation of the Robert M. Edsel novel.
In a race against time, a crew of art historians and museum curators unite to recover renown works of art stolen by Nazis before Hitler destroys them.
Damon and Clooney are joined on the cast list by Cate Blanchett, Bill Murray and John Goodman and the movie will be released at the beginning of next year.
2013 is a year that sees Damon move between a wide range of different projects from drama to sci-fi and biopic and all of his movies are super exciting.
Promised Land is released 19th April
