Logan Lerman

Logan Lerman

Logan Lerman is back on the big screen this week as he reprises the role of Percy Jackson in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.

Percy Jackson & the Lightening Thief was the role that was the breakthrough was the young actor back in 2010, and since then he has varied his acing projects.

Lerman kicked off his career shooting adverts before making the move into film in 2000. His first two projects saw him appear in Mel Gibson movies has he landed roles in What Women Want and The Patriot.

Following that roles in TV movie A Painted House, TV series Jack & Bobby and film Hoot, saw him pick up a series of young artist awards and he was tipped as an actor to keep an eye on.

But it was to be 2010 when he really made his big breakthrough, as he landed the role of Percy Jackson in his first blockbuster role.

Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief was a big screen adaptation of the first novel in the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, and saw Lerman team up with director Chris Columbus.

While the movie was met with mixed reviews by the critics it put in a solid performance at the box office, and launched Lerman onto a global acting stage.

But the actor has tasted a little bit of disappointment on the big screen as The Three Musketeers was not the success that the studio had hoped.

The movie offered very little in terms of a news spin on a story and felt too similar to the movie adaptations that had gone before.

Having said all of that Lerman was a charming d’Artagnan, as he showed that he could be a leading hero.

Another great role was far away as he landed the part of Charlie Kelmeckies in The Perks of Being A Wallflower.

The movie was a big screen adaptation of the much loved novel by Stephen Chbosky; he adapted his own novel into a screenplay as well as made his directorial debut with this project.

This coming of age drama is a movie that tackles themes of sexual abuse, suicide attempts and homosexuality and give Lerman, Emma Watson and Ezra Miller some great characters to get their teeth into.

The Perks of Being A Wallflower was a critical hit - we loved it here at FemaleFirst - as it showed a very different side to the three lead actors.

And now Lerman returns to the role that made his a star as Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters hit’s the big screen this week.

Thor Freudenthal is in the director’s chair this time around, but Alexandra Daddario, Brandon T. Jackson and Sean Bean are all reprising roles from the first film.

But there are some new faces to watch out from as Nathan Fillion, Stanley Tucci and Anthony Head are all on board in great roles.

To save their world, Percy and his friends must find the fabled and magical Golden Fleece. Embarking on a treacherous odyssey into the uncharted waters of the Sea of Monsters (known to humans as the Bermuda Triangle), they battle terrifying creatures, an army of zombies, and the ultimate Evil.

And this is not the only movie that we can look forward to seeing Lerman in as he is set to star in Darren Aronofsky’s biblical epic, Noah.

Lerman is set to take on the role of Noah’s son Ham. Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Anthony Hopkins, Douglas Booth and Emma Watson all make up an impressive cast list. The movie will be hitting the big screen next year and promises to be one not to miss.

Over the last couple of years Lerman has mixed and matched his roles and is becoming a versatile and exciting young actor.

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters is released 9th August.
