Josh Brolin is one of the most exciting and versatile actors currently working in Hollywood, and he is back on the big screen this week with Labor Day.
Throughout his career, we have seen him star in the likes of The Goonies, No Country For Old Men, Men In Black 3, and Oldboy; he really does know how to mix and match his roles.
He is set to continue that trend this year, with a string of very different projects on the horizon.
Brolin kicks that off this week as he teams up with Kate Winslet and director Jason Reitman for Labor Day: which is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Joyce Maynard.
Brolin will take on the role of Frank, an escaped convict who convinces Adele and Henry Wheeler to help him.
Hidden in their home, relationships and bond begin to form, as events of this long Labor Day weekend will shape them for the rest of their lives.
Labor Day is the first time that Brolin will share screen time with Winslet, and it looks set to be a collaboration not to miss this weekend.
Brolin will be back this summer, as he will take over the role of Dwight McCarthy in the highly anticipated Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
It was back in 2005 when we were treated to Sin City, and fans of the first film have had a long wait for this second movie.
Brolin is one of the exciting new additions to the cast list as Robert Rodriguez is in back in the director's chair with Frank Miller.
Based on Miller's graphic novels, A Dame To Kill For follows the town's most hard-boiled citizens as they cross paths with some of its more reviled inhabitants - at this stage little more about the film is known.
Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, and Bruce Willis are some of the familiar faces returning. While Joseph Gordon Levitt and Eva Green join Brolin as the new additions.
Sin City: A Dame To Kill For is a movie that I have been looking forward to for quite some time; the cast list alone is enough to make your eyes water. It looks set to be the must see film of the summer.
Inherent Vice is another movie that is whipping up a storm, as Paul Thomas Anderson returns to the director's chair.
Inherent Vice is already being tipped as a possible 2015 Oscar contender, and Brolin is part of another terrific cast.
Joaquin Phoenix, Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson, and Benicio Del Toro are all on board, as Thomas Pynchon's novel is adapted for film.
Despite having all of those projects in the pipeline, there is no rest for Brolin as he is currently filming Everest.
The movie is based on the book Thin Air, and recounts a devastating event that happened while trying to conquer Everest in 1996.
Brolin is joined on the cast list by Jake Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, and John Hawkes, while Baltasar Kormákur is at the helm.
Filming got underway earlier this year, and will shoot in Otztal Alps, Iceland and Nepal. Everest won't hit the big screen until 2015.
Brolin has another very busy year ahead of him with a whole host of exciting projects in the pipeline.
Labor Day is released 21st March.
