Spy

A comedy role is perhaps something that we are not use to seeing Jason Statham tackle, but that is exactly what he is going to this summer with Spy.

Spy sees Statham team up with director Paul Feig for the first time. Feig has already revealed that he has wanted to work with Statham for some time and he really does nail this comedy role.

Spy is a summer movie that we are really looking forward to here at FemaleFirst as it looks like it is going to be laugh out loud funny - that should come as no surprise with Melissa McCarthy in the central role.

This is McCarthy's third film project with Feig after the pair has enjoyed success with Bridesmaids and The Heat in recent years. McCarthy and Statham share some 'quality' time together in this brand new clip from the film as Statham proves that he is a 'real' agent:

Some great cast lists have been assembled for the summer movie season and Spy is just one that is boasting an all-star line-up. As if McCarthy and Statham were not enough, Jude Law, Rose Byrne, Allison Janney, Bobby Cannavale, and 50 Cent are just some of the other names that are also on board.

Susan Cooper (McCarthy) is an unassuming, deskbound CIA analyst, and the unsung hero behind the Agency's most dangerous missions. But when her partner (Law) falls off the grid and another top agent (Statham) is compromised, she volunteers to go deep undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer, and prevent a global disaster.

Statham is one of the big screen's most well-known action heroes but it is great to see him tackle the comedy genre for the first time - it really does look like he has got a knack for it. Can't wait to see Spy when it hits the big screen in June.

Spy is released 5th June.
