Iron Man 3 is the first stand alone movie for this character since 2010 but we did see Downey Jr reprise the role last summer for Avengers Assemble.
We are going to see the character effected by events of that movie as well as facing some new and more dangerous foes.
Downey Jr reunites with director Shane Black as he takes over the director's chair from Jon Favreau.
But Favreau has not left the project completely as he will be reprising the role of Happy; Don Cheadle and Gwyneth Paltrow will also be back.
But it is the new characters that we should be getting excited about as Guy Pearce and Ben Kingsley are the two big additions to the franchise; and they promise to wreck havoc.
