We are huge fans of Tom Hanks here at FemaleFirst and Inferno is one of two movies that we are going to see him star in this autumn.
Inferno is the third of Dan Brown's novels to be adapted for the big screen and sees the Oscar-winning actor reprise the role of Robert Langdon, who he played in The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons.
Inferno was a book that was released back in 2013 and is the fourth of Brown's books to feature the character Robert Langdon. However, Inferno has been adapted into a movie first, ahead of previous book The Lost Symbol.
Inferno sees Hanks reunite with filmmaker Ron Howard as he returns to the director's chair for the first time since In the Heart of the Sea. This also marks the fifth collaboration between the director and actor.
They first worked together for Splash in 1984 and have since gone on to work on Apollo 13, The Da Vinci Code, and Angels & Demons; it is great to see them working together once again.
Howard brings together another great cast list as Felicity Jones, Ben Foster, Irrfan Khan, Sidse Babett Knudsen, and Omar Sy have come together to star alongside Hanks.
Jones is one of the most exciting young actresses and 2016 has been another very busy year for her. As well as starring in Inferno, we are also going to see her take on the central role in the already anticipated Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
I can't wait to see Jones star alongside Hanks and share the screen together; it really looks like it is going to be an exciting acting collaboration.
Inferno finds Robert Langdon (Hanks) on a trail of clues tied to the great Dante himself. When Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Sienna Brooks (Jones), a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories. Together, they race across Europe and against the clock to foil a deadly global plot.
The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons hit the big screen back in 2006 and 2009 and enjoyed box office success; especially The Da Vinci Code a decade ago.
Inferno was a terrific and action-packed page turner and I am looking forward to seeing how that translates onto the big screen. It looks like it is going to be an exciting ride.
Inferno is released 14th October.
