There are all sorts of Avengers 2 rumours floating around at the moment - you are not quite sure which are true and which are total rubbish.
One that has been doing the rounds over the last couple of days is that Oscar nominated actor Jeremy Renner would not be returning as Hawkeye and the role would be recast.
We got a very brief look at this character back in 2011 when he cameoed in Thor before we were introduced to his properly in Avengers Assemble last summer.
But Renner publicly stated that he was unhappy with the development of the character throughout the movie in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.
-"At the end of the day, 90% of the movie, I'm not the character I signed on to play. I'm literally in there for two minutes, and then all of a sudden...
"All I could really work on was the physical part of it all, because that didn't change. That was just the biggest challenge to overcome in playing the guy.
"I was limited, you know what I mean? I was a terminator in a way. So yeah, fun stunts. But is there any sort of emotional content or thought process? No."-
Now while perhaps openly criticising Marvel is not the best way to go about things Renner does make a very a good point as he was the most underdeveloped of the characters in the film.
He does spend half of the movie brainwashed and so he is given little to get his teeth into - which is a shame because he is a fine actor.
But that is the problem with a big ensemble film such as Avengers Assemble as you have many characters to feature and develop in such a small space of time; inevitably something has got to give.
Hawkeye is one of Marvel's most acclaimed comic book series and he is a character with a great back-story.
Moreover the film did set up a very interesting relationship between Black Widow and Hawkeye that I personally would love to see explored in further movies - whether that be Avengers 2 or some form of stand alone project.
But Perez Hilton contradicted these rumours yesterday as a source told the, that the casting rumours were completely untrue and Renner was still part of the Marvel family.
There is also plenty of talk about contract issues with some of the cast so who knows which cast members we will be seeing in Avengers 2 in 2015.
