Studio Ghibli have delivered great animation movies for years and From Up On Poppy Hill looks set to be another triumph.
Oscar winner Hayao Miyazaki has penned the screenplay while Goro Miyazaki is in the director's chair this time around.
This is the first directorial outing for Goro since Tales from Earthsea and From Up On Poppy Hill is the first Studio Ghibli film since the fab Arietty.
And we have the brand new trailer for you to check out:
The U.S. version sees a great cast assembled to lend their voices to the film and Gillian Anderson, Beau Bridges, Christina Hendricls and Ron Howard are all on board.
Set in Yokohama in 1963, this lovingly hand-drawn film centres on Umi (voiced by Sarah Bolger) and Shun (voiced by Anton Yelchin) and the budding romance that develops as they join forces to save their high school’s ramshackle clubhouse from demolition.
The top-grossing Japanese film of 2011 and winner of the Japan Academy Prize for Animation, From Up on Poppy Hill captures the innocence of new love as well as the beauty of Yokohama’s harbour and lush surroundings.
Over the years's Studio Ghibli have delivered some truly stunning movies including Grave of the Fireflies and Princess Mononoke and more recently the likes of Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle have been a breath of fresh air.
