Elysium
Elysium is a movie that I personally cannot wait to see as Neill Blomkamp returns to the director's chair.
Blomkamp made his directorial debut back in 2009 with the fantastic District 9 and this is his first film since then.
District 9 saw Blomkamp promise much as a director and sci-fi fans have been waiting to see what he does next... finally Elysium is on the horizon.
And we have the very first trailer for you to take a look at - having see this I am now even more excited for this movie.
Elysium sees Matt Damon take on the sci-fi challenge as he stars in the central role of Max - another action packed role for the actor.
He is joined on the cast list by Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, Alice Braga, Diego Luna and Williams Fichtner.
In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth.
Secretary Rhodes (Foster), a hard line government official, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium.
That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can.
When unlucky Max (Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.
The excitement surrounding this film was triggered last year when it showed at Comic Con and the excitement has been growing ever since.
If Elysium is anywhere near as good as District 9 - and it really was one of the best movies of the year - then we are in for a real treat.
