Set in the heart of New York City, John Turturro’s touching and sophisticated comedy Fading Gigolo featuring an all-star cast including Woody Allen, Sharon Stone, Sofia Vergara, Vanessa Paradis and Liev Schrieber is set for release in cinemas nationwide on 23 May 2014 through Curzon Film World.
Fading Gigolo tells the story of a New York City book store owner Murray (Woody Allen) who manages to convince his friend Fioravante (John Turturro) that there is a fortune to be made by becoming a professional gigolo.
Murray, acting as his friend’s pimp, pursues his new vocation with tenacity securing Fioravante’s first client, a seductive and playful dermatologist Dr Parker (Sharon Stone), who then recommends his services to her voluptuous girlfriend Selima (Sofia Vergara).
Fioravante soon settles in to his new role as a casanova and it’s not long before he meets a potential client in Avigal (Vanessa Paradis), a Hasidic Jew widow confined to a strict neighbourhood watched over by smitten local Hasidic Jewish policeman Dovi (Liev Scheiber).
As jealousy ensues and Fioravante’s unexpected relationship with Avigal unravels, what follows is a funny, touching story of love in the heart of New York City.
