If you are an animation fan then 2013 has already been a great year with some terrific projects hitting the big screen.
Another gem is around the corner this May in the form of Epic - the big screen adaptation of the novel of Williams Joyce’s children’s book The Leaf men and The Brave Good Bugs.
Chris Wedge, the man behind the likes of Ice age and Robots, is back in the director’s chair while he has assembled a fantastic voice cast.
Animation movies have attracted some of the biggest names in recent years and Epic is no different as Amanda Seyfried, Colin Farrell, Josh Hutcherson, Christoph Waltz and Beyonce are have brought characters to life.
We take a closer look at the actors involved in the movie and they character that they are behind:
Amanda Seyfried voices the character of Mary Katherine in the movie - daughter of Professor Bomba (voiced by Jason Sudeikis).
The seventeen year old discovers that all of her father’s stories about the woods teaming with life are all true when she is shrunken down and comes face to face with those who live there.
Josh Hutcherson has a very busy year ahead his and Epic sees him bring the character of Nod to life. Nod is a rookie leafman warrior who is called into action as they must save the forest from evil.
Rock legend Steve Tyler has also lent his voice to the Nim Galuu, a caterpillar.
Epic tells the story of an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good who keep the natural world alive and the forces of evil who wish to destroy it.
When a teen age girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters in order to save their world…and ours.
Epic is released 22nd May
