Cate Blanchett is one our favourite actresses here at FemaleFirst and she is set to return to the big screen this March with her latest film Truth.
Set in the world of journalism, Truth sees Blanchett take on the real life role newsroom producer of Mary Mapes, alongside fellow Oscar winner Robert Redford.
Truth is inspired by the book by Mapes and has been adapted for the big screen by writer and director James Vanderbilt. While Vanderbilt is no stranger to penning screenplays such as The Amazing Spider-Man, Zodiac, and White House Down, Truth will mark his feature film directorial debut.
There's still a few weeks to go until Truth is finally released here in the UK, but we have a couple of terrific new clips to share with you to whet your appetite:
It is always exciting when a Cate Blanchett movie is on the horizon and I cannot wait to see her team up with Redford - who is another mighty fine actor.
However, it is not all about Blanchett and Redford as Topher Grace, Dennis Quaid, Elizabeth Moss, Bruce Greenwood, Stacy Keach, and Dermot Mulroney make up an impressive and very very talented cast list.
The film chronicles the story Mapes and Rather (Blanchett & Redford) uncovered that a sitting US president may have been AWOL from the United States National Guard for over a year during the Vietnam War.
When the story blew up in their face, the ensuing scandal ruined Dan Rather's career, nearly changed a US Presidential election, and almost took down all of CBS News in the process.
Blanchett and Redford are no stranger to this type of film with Veronica Guerin and All The President's Men under their belts and I cannot wait to see what they deliver this time around.
Truth is released 4th March.
