We are counting down the days to the release of The Danish Girl and there is less than a fortnight to go before we get to see Eddie Redmayne in action.

To say that Redmayne has been winning over critics and audiences would be an understatement as he has already picked up Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nominations for Best Actor. It looks like he is also going to be in the Oscar mix for his performances.
The movie sees Redmayne take on the role of Lili Elbe, one of the first known recipients of sex reassignment surgery, alongside Alicia Vikander, who plays her wife Gerda.

A wonderful cast has been assembled as Redmayne and Vikander are joined by Matthias Schoenaerts, Ben Whishaw, Amber Heard and Sebastian Koch are all on board.
The Danish Girl also marks the return of Tom Hooper to the director's chair for his first feature film since the release of Les Misérables. It will also be the first time that he has worked with Redmayne since the success of the musical.
The movie is based on the novel by David Ebershoff and has been adapted for the big screen by Lucinda Coxon.
The Danish Girl is the remarkable love story inspired by the lives of Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener (Redmayne and Vikander). Lili and Gerda's marriage and work evolve as they navigate Lili's groundbreaking journey as a transgender pioneer.
The Danish Girl is set to be a major awards contender as the beginning of 2016 rolls around and Redmayne could be in the winner's circle once again.
