Celebrating the human condition, the movie is set in both New York City and Carmona, Spain, and promises to tackle each of its sequences with humour, poignancy and love.
Colette - January 9, 2019
Directed by Wash Westmoreland, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Richard Glatzer and Rebecca Lenkiewicz, comes Colette, starring Kiera Knightley in the lead role as Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette. The film follows Colette as her life is uprooted and transformed completely, going from rural France to the splendor of Paris, where she ghostwrites for her husband and comes up with a semi-autobiographical novel that becomes a bestseller and cultural sensation.
Fighting against gender roles when she is forced to battle for the creative ownership over the original novel, and others that it spawned, Colette is the ultimate feminist, going up against societal constraints in a bid to claim what is rightfully hers.
