While this year has clearly not been the best, next year will hopefully be better. With quite a few films coming out in 2021, here are six that are intended for your little ones, but that you may also love when watching them!
Tom and Jerry
Everyone’s favourite cat and mouse are coming to the big screen!
Tom and Jerry were on TV for many years, making everyone smile with their constant love-hate relationship. Their antics have now made it all the way to New York City!
The film is live-action – with the exception of the disastrous duo – and follows Kayla (Chloe Grace Moretz), an event planner who must remove a pesky pest from hotel premises… no prizes for guessing who that is.
As you may have guessed, Tom is enlisted to help remove Jerry from the hotel before a wedding takes place. Cartoon violence stems from Tom trying to get Jerry out of hotel walls as his plans never seem to work.
The film is set to be released in February 2021 although, like many films, may be subject to change due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Raya and the Last Dragon
Recently announced by Disney, this movie looks to be a heartwarming tale about courage and hardship, in a land called Kumandra.
500 years ago dragons and humans lives in harmony, but those known as The Dunn threatened the land, and the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity.
Kelly Tran voices titular hero Raya as she goes on her journey to find the last dragon to help her save the world, as The Dunn have returned.
The film is set to come out in March 2021, and looks to be visually-stunning and a real emotional rollercoaster.
Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway
Another kid-friendly film coming out next year is Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway!
Peter Rabbit (James Corden) cannot seem to shake his reputation as a simple mischievous bunny. So, what does he do? He leaves the garden!
Once Peter has ventured out of the garden, he finds somewhere where mischief and tomfoolery is appreciated – but his family begin to worry and come to get him.
A wonderful cast comes together, also starring Rose Byrne as Bea, Margot Robbie as Flopsy Rabbit, and Daisy Ridley as Cotton-Tail. This film promises hilarity and perfect clowning-around for children to see!
Peter Rabbit 2 comes to cinemas on the 7th August 2021.
Rumble
Monsters are tame. Monster wresting is a very popular sport. Winnie (Geraldine Viswanathan) seeks the life of a coach. It’s a brave new world!
Rumble focuses on this peculiar setting, where young Winnie wants to be just like her father by turning an unproven monster into a winning fighter.
With a great cast, including none other than Terry Crews as the amazing Tentacular (a giant shark with tentacles for arms), this film will definitely be one to keep your eyes on, or just one eye if you’re a cyclops!
The movie seems to scream underdog story, and doesn’t everyone love one of those? Will Winnie rise to the occasion, believe in herself and her contender and shock the world?
You’ll have to wait until May 2021 to find out!
Luca
Another film recently announced – this time by Pixar, Luca assures to be another warm tale about friendship and family.
The eponymous youngster, Luca, spends a sensational summer with his best friend Alberto on the Italian Riviera. Their adventure is filled with scooter rides, gelato, and of course – pasta!
But Luca’s new friend seems to be why the fun ends – he is a sea monster from another world… yep!
There is not much to say in regard to casting yet, but the film will definitely catch the attention of your children – and they will be able to see the film in June 2021!
Clifford the Big Red Dog
Everyone knows Clifford – a gigantic dog with an oddly red hue. Clifford gets into much mischief in the books of the same name, so it is only right that the cartoon dog gets into much live-action trouble!
There is not too much to go off in regard to plot, but what we do know is that a little girl will have to keep her massive dog out of the clutches of a genetics company who, by the sounds of it, want to do tests on Clifford!
The cast includes the hilarious Jack Whitehall, and the wonderful John Cleese!
This film is about a year away, being released in December 2021, but looks brilliant and it will be wonderful to see a live-action Clifford movie!
