Bernie sees funny man Jack Black return to the big screen as he teams up with director Richard Linklater.
It is the first time that the pair have worked together since the success of School of Rock but this is a very different project for the pair.
This time around it is black comedy as Linklater has brought this real life story to the big screen.
And we have the new trailer for the film for you to take a look at:
The movie is based on a 1998 Texas Monthly magazine article by Skip Hollandsworth about the murder of an elderly millionaire by her considerable younger companion.
Hollandsworth has teamed up with director Linklater to pen the screenplay while Black stars in the title role.
Shirley MacLaine and Matthew McConaughey are also on the cast list for the movie - a movie that has already picked up a strong of awards.
Black himself was nominated for a Golden Globe for his central performance as he returns to the big screen for the first time since The Big Year.
In the tiny, rural town of Carthage, TX, assistant funeral director Bernie Tiede was one of the town's most popular residents.
He taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Everyone loved and appreciated Bernie, so it came as no surprise when he befriended Marjorie Nugent, an affluent widow who was as well known for her sour attitude as her fortune.
Bernie frequently travelled with Marjorie and even managed her banking affairs. She quickly became fully dependent on Bernie and his generosity, but Bernie struggled to meet her increasing demands.
When the townspeople went months without seeing Marjorie, she was not missed and Bernie continued to handle her affairs.
So they were very shocked when it was finally reported that Marjorie Nugent had been dead for some time, and their beloved Bernie Tiede charged with her murder.
