Andrew Scott is perhaps best known for his role as Jim Moriarty in TV smash Sherlock, but he has plenty of movies on the horizon this year.
The Stag is the first movie to watch out for, as Scott turns his hand to comedy. The Stag will see Scott team up with filmmaker John Butler, as he makes his feature film directorial debut.
Written by Butler and Peter McDonald, follows a group of friends who set off for a bachelor party in the great outdoors... naturally, everything does not go to plan.
Scott is joined on the cast list by Hugh O'Conor, Peter McDonald, and Brian Gleeson, as he makes his long awaited return to the big screen.
Locke is another Scott film to watch out for, even though we don't actually catch a glimpse of him.
Locke follows Ivan Locke (Tom Hardy) during a drive from Birmingham to London. During the drive, he tries to sort out professional and personal problems through a series of phone calls.
Scott is on board as Donal, who must try to keep a construction job going in Locke's absence. Tom Holland, Olivia Colman, and Ruth Wilson are also on board.
I had the chance to see Locke at the BFI London Film Festival, and it really is a totally engrossing watch. Who knew a film that never sets foot outside the care could be so riveting?
A Ken Loach project is next for Scott, as he is set to star in Jimmy's Hall: a movie that is set to hit the big screen at the end of May.
The movie will follow political activist Jimmy Gralton (Barry Ward) is deported from Ireland during the country's 'Red Scare' of the 1930s.
Scott is set to take on the role of Father Seamus, as he collaborates with director Loach for the first time.
The movie marks a return to live action for Roach for the first time since The Angels' Share, having gone and made documentary The Spirit of '45 in between.
Pride is another project that Scott has already finished filming, and that will be released in September.
The movie will mark the second directorial outing for Matthew Warchus, while Scott will star alongside Bill Nighy, Dominic West, George MacKay, Imelda Staunton, and Paddy Considine.
The movie will follow a group of gay and lesbian activists as they raise money to support the striking miners during the eighties. When they arrive in a Welsh mining town to make their donation, the two communities strike up a bond.
Frankenstein is one of the Scott projects that I am particularly looking forward to, as a new take on Mary Shelley's novel is being brought to the big screen.
Filming on the project is currently underway, as Paul McGuigan is back in the director's chair.
While the plot for the film is unknown, James McAvoy will take on the role of Victor Von Frankenstein and Daniel Radcliffe will play Igor.
Scott is also joined on the cast list by Jessica Brown Findlay, Freddie Fox, and Mark Gatiss. Sadly, we won't be seeing this movie until January of next year.
Scott is set to be a very busy boy over the next twelve months, with films to finish shooting and to promote. Also, it looks like we will be seeing him in the next series of Sherlock as well, hooray!!!!!
The Stag is released 7th March (Ireland) & 14th March (UK)
