Zero Dark Thirty is another movie that many are getting excited about as it marks the return to the director’s chair for Kathryn Bigelow.
This is the first movie for Bigelow since she made Oscar history by becoming the first woman to scoop the Best Director prize - her movie The Hurt Locker also went on to win Best Picture that year.
Zero Dark Thirty sees her return with another military themed movie as the story follows the hunt for Osama Bin Laden.
I was a huge fan of The Hurt Locker as it was a movie that focused on the character’s rather than good vs. evil or the U.S. winning the way against terrorism and I hope that Zero Dark Thirty is in the same vein.
She has reunited with screenwriter Mark Boal for this project and if he has penned a script half as good as the Hurt Locker then we really will be on to a winner.
It has been another great year for actress Jessica Chastain and 2013 is set to see that success continue as she leads the all star cast.
Chastain was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Help this year and she could make it two years in a row with her performance in this movie.
Chastain is joined on the cast list by Mark Strong, Joel Edgerton, Kyle Chandler, Edgar Ramirez and Scott Adkins.
For a decade, an elite team of intelligence and military operatives, working in secret across the globe, devoted themselves to a single goal: to find and eliminate Osama bin Laden.
As you can imagine there is a lot of hype around this movie because of Bigelow - could she find herself an Oscar contender once again?
And the answer to this is absolutely as Best Picture and Best Director nods could well come her way.
Zero Dark Thirty is released 25th January
