I'm Not There

With a stellar line up I'm Not There is director Todd Hayes' biographical film of musician and icon Bob Dylan.

Yes, yes I know what you are thinking it's almost Oscar time so let role out a bio of another music star like Ray and Walk The Line in a bid to secure a nomination.

But no no no no this movie is completely different to any biography that we have seen before.

Six actors: Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Richard Gere, Heath Ledger, Ben Whishaw and Marcus Carl Franklin all depict Dylan throughout the film.

Yes all of them. They all represent six distinct sections of the icon's life and career - highlighting his ability to keep re-creating himself.

For example in the 1960s he is protest-song icon Jack Rollins (Bale) the character Jude (Blanchett) embraces the electric guitar, and Robbie Clark (Ledger) plays Dylan in a movie.

With a supporting cast of Michelle Williams, Julianne Moore, Charlotte Gainsbourg and David Cross I'm Not There is an experimental movie which might just sneak a nomination come awards season.

I'm Not There is released 21st December.
