This week sees a whole host of acting stars come together for new comedy movie What to Expect When You're Expecting.
And 2012 promises to be the year of the ensemble cast as a number of movies are bringing together some fantastic actors.
So we have taken a look at some of the cast lists that have and will be grabbing our attention this year.
- What To Expect When You're Expecting
What To Expect When You're Expecting is set to be one of the comedies of the summer and is a New York #1 bestseller.
The movie sees Kirk Jones return to the director's chair for the first time since Everybody's Fine back in 2009.
The movie follows five couples who discover that the are about to become parents follow the ups and downs of pregnancy.
Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Brooklyn Decker, Elizabeth Banks and Anna Kendrick play the mums to be while Matthew Morrison, Chace Crawford, Dennis Quad and Rodrigo Santoro will soon be fathers.
- Avengers Assemble
There has already been one ensemble movie that has been grabbing all of the headlines so far this year and that is Avengers Assemble.
Avengers Assemble has kicked off the blockbuster summer in fine style and has so far grossed in excess of $1 billion to become the fourth biggest movie of all time.
But the superhero movie comes with a super cast as Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hiddleston and Samuel L Jackson turn in some great performances.
Avengers Assemble could so easily have been a movie with one central character (Downey Jr as Iron Man) with the rest as more of a support cast. But that was not the case as director Joss Whedon balanced all the roles fantastically and there is a real team feel to the cast throughout.
- The Dark Knight Rises
Another superhero movie with an impressive and extensive cast this summer is, of course, The Dark Knight Rises - a movie that I am super looking forward to.
Christopher Nolan is back in the director's chair for the first Batman movie since The Dark Knight back in 2008.
Christian Bale is set to play Bruce Wayne aka Batman for the final time in the movie while Gar Oldman, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine are also back.
But there are some great new faces on the cast list this time around and the most exciting is that of Tom Hardy who is set to play the villain Bane.
Anne Hathaway will bring Catwoman back to the big screen and it will be the first time that we will be seeing this character in the Nolan Batman franchise.
Joseph Gordon Levitt and Marion Cotillard reunite with Nolan, working with him on Inception, while Juno Temple and Aidan Gillen are also on the cast list.
The Dark Knight Rises is one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year as Nolan brings down the curtain on the franchise.
- The Hobbit
It has been almost a decade since we last visited Middle Earth but this Christmas Oscar winner Peter Jackson is taking us back there as he brings The Hobbit to the big screen.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be released in December with the second part coming twelve months later.
And the cast list is a mixture of new faces as well as old names as the likes of Ian McKellan, Andy Serkis and Cate Blanchett return to the already established characters of Gandalf, Gollum and Galadriel.
This time around Martin Freeman will play Bilbo Baggins, who finds himself on the adventure of a lifetime, and he is joined by Luke Evans, Evangeline Lily, Lee Pace, Billy Connolly and Richard Armitage.
What To Expect When You're Expecting is released 25th May
