The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 has brought the successful franchise to a close the autumn and fans are saying goodbye the these movies in style as the film has dominated the box office for the last three weeks.
Now that Edward and Bella's love story has finally be brought to a close what movies are going to fill the gap? And there are a few contenders.
- Beautiful Creatures
Beautiful Creatures is a supernatural romance that will be hitting the big screen next year and sees Richard LaGravenese back in the director's chair.
The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl and brings together a cast that mixes upcoming talent with established stars.
A supernatural love story set in the South, 'Beautiful Creatures' tells the tale of two star-crossed lovers: Ethan (Alden Ehrenreich), a young man longing to escape his small town, and Lena (Alice Englert), a mysterious new girl.
Together, they uncover dark secrets about their respective families, their history and their town.
The movie introduces us to Alden Ehrenreich and Alice Englert while Viola Davis and Jeremy Irons are also set to star
This the latest story of love against the odds and looks set to be a success next year.
Beautiful Creatures is released 13th February.
- The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones
The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones is another young adult novel that has been adapted for the big screen and will be released next summer.
The movie an adaptation of Cassandra Clare's best selling novel and sees Harald Zwart back in the director's chair for the first time since The Karate Kid back in 2010.
Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower have both enjoyed success over the last couple of years but this could well be the movie that sees their stars rocket as they play the central characters Clary and Jace.
The movie follows the journey of Clary Fray (Lily Collins), a seemingly ordinary teenager who meets the mysterious Jace Wayland (Jamie Campbell Bower) and discovers that she is in fact a descendent from a long line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from assorted demons; a battle largely unseen by human eyes.
This is a movie that could well get Twilight fans excited as the real world once again come face to face with the world of the supernatural.
The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones is released 23rd August.
- Warm Bodies
If you like the whole supernatural being getting involved with a human than Warm Bodies could well be the movie for you as love once again knows no boundaries.
After a zombie becomes involved with the girlfriend of one of his victims, their romance sets in motion a sequence of events that might transform the entire lifeless world.
Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer play loves R and Julie and they are joined on the cast list by John Malkovich and Dave Franco.
We haven't seen too many movies like this where a zombie is the hero and so there is a certain freshness to this story.
Warm Bodies is released 8th February
- Divergent
Divergent is one of the movies that people do see to be getting excited about as Veronica Roth's novel is adapted for the big screen.
Production is yet to begin on the movie but Neil Burger will be in the director's chair while Shilene Woodley will take on the lead role.
Set within a dystopian Chicago the movie follows Beatrice "Tris" Prior who falls in love with Tobias, from another fraction.
Divergent has a Hunger Games vibe to it and the books already have a big fanbase and could do very well when it is released in 2014.
- Fallen
Fallen has been picked up by Disney and is based on the novel by Lauren Kate and gives a new meaning to the word love triangle.
The story follows Lucinda Price who has been able to see shadows since she was a child.
She finds herself courted by two competitive men -- fully unaware at first that they are angels who have vied for her love for centuries.
There has been no cast linked to the movie as yet and a screenplay is apparently being worked on.
- The Hunger Games
Of course next year will see The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hit the big screen and I fully expect the second movie to be an even bigger success than the first.
Fans of the books flocked to cinemas this summer to see Katniss Everdeen on film for the first time as Jennifer Lawrence brought the heroine to life.
In the second film Katniss finds herself torn between Gale and Peeta but life is made even more complicated when she has to go back into the arena for the Quarter Quell - but everything is not as it seems.
The Hunger Games is the franchise that really could rival the success of Twilight over the next few years as the final book Mockingjay is set to be split into two movies.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 is out now.
