With great one line like "Hasta la vista, baby", Terminator, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, is a great villain but also a great hero.Set in 1984 cyborg assassin the terminator has been sent back from the year 2029 by a race of artificially computer-controlled machines that want to kill mankind.His sole mission is to kill Sarah Connor whose future son will lead a resistance against the machines.While the villain in the original movie, who is destroyed by Sarah Connnor, the second movie Terminator 2: Judgement Day cements the chatacter as an action hero.Ten years after the events of film one two men arrive in LA one of them is identical to the Terminator that Sarah destroyed the other an unknown man.The Terminator is a Model 101, reprogrammed by the future John Connor to be his protector. The unknown man is a T-1000 and programmed to kill him.
A third film set in 2004 and John Connor lives off the grid, where he cannot be traced. But Skynet sent another Termiantor T-X to kill and future human resistance lieutenants.
Another reprogrammed Terminator, in the shape of Arnie, is sent back to once again protect Jonh and his future wife Katherine Brewster.
The Terminator franchise has become one of the most popular as his character went from villain to well liked hero.
With some of the best one liners in movie history the series of movies also cemented Schwarzenegger as one of the best action actions in the business.
