Starring ‘Lizzie Mcguire’ actress and teen starlet Hilary Duff, Surviving Summer tells the story of Greta (Duff), a bright and beautiful yet off-the-rails teen, whose life changes over one highly eventful summer holiday.

3. Dirty Dancing (1987)

A legendary classic we couldn’t miss Dirty Dancing out! In 1963, "Baby" Houseman (Jennifer Grey) is a 17-year-old spending the summer with her family at a resort hotel in the Catskills; she plans on being in the Peace Corps next summer, so this is expected to be her last summer as a carefree adolescent. 

One night Baby hears what sounds like a party going on in the employee's dormitory, and she pokes her head in to discover most of the hotel staff enjoying the sort of close dancing that would get you kicked out of the senior prom in no time flat.

Baby is particularly struck by handsome Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze), a dancer in the resort's floor show, and falls head over heels in love, wanting to be near him.

When Johnny's dance partner, Penny (Cynthia Rhodes), finds herself pregnant after a fling with one of the waiters, Baby volunteers to learn her steps and take her place; however, Baby's father, Dr. Jake Houseman (Jerry Orbach), will have none of it, convinced that Johnny is a low life and that his daughter is too young to understand her own feelings.

2.  High School Musical (2006)

One of the biggest hits of the last few years High School Musical tells the tale of Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez ;  two totally different teenagers who meet at a party while singing karaoke on New Years Eve.

One week later Troy goes back to his high school, East High, in New Mexico to find that Gabriella is a new student there. They quickly become close friends and accidentally audition for the school musical.

After getting a callback, drama queen, Sharpay Evans and her sidekick brother, Ryan are furious. Will Sharpay and Ryan ruin Troy and Gabriella’s chance of happiness and lead roles in the school musical or will they let them break free.

1.  Mean Girls (2004)

Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) is a 15-year-old girl who has spent most of her life in Africa, where she was home-schooled by her zoologist parents.

When her family relocates to the United States, Cady finds herself attending a high school in suburban Illinois, where she gets a crash course in the various sub-strata of the student body: the jocks, the cheerleaders, the stoners, the "cool" kids, and so on.

Much to her surprise, Cady finds herself embraced by a clique of rich and popular girls known to outsiders as "the Plastics.
