A family becomes fractured when they choose not to see, hear or speak about their problems.
When politician Servet (Ercan Kesal) is involved in a hit and run car accident, he asks his driver Eyup (Yavuz Bingol) to take the blame, in doing so, keeping his own election hopes alive and leaving Eyup with a financial payout that will keep his family secure.
But as you'd expect, one (fairly significant) lie quickly multiplies and soon all four protagonists are laden down with fear and suspicion.
While Eyup is serving time in prison, his son Ismail (Rifat Sungar) gets into some sort of trouble, forcing his mother Hacer (Hatice Aslan) to ask Servet for more money and leaving her more involved with the politician than she anticipated.
Beautifully rendered cityscapes, washed-out tones and a slow-burning plotline will please fans of Nuri Bilge Ceylan... and bag a few new ones in the process.
