Ashton Kutcher has become one of Hollywood's most popular actors with the likes of Dude, Where's my Car, Just married and What Happens in Vegas under his belt in recent years.
But he's back on the big screen this week in his latest movie Spread, which sees him team up with Anne Heche.
Kutcher was born in Cedar Rapid in Iowa where he attended Washington High School. Acting wasn't exactly first on the agenda for Kutcher as he enrolled at the University of Iowa to study biochemical engineering.
Kutcher hoped to find a cure for his brother's heart condition which had plagued him all of his life.
But in 1998 Kutcher's path took a different turn after coming second in a modelling contest he signed up to Next Modelling and has never looked back.
He landed campaigns with Calvin Klein and it wasn't long before Hollywood and movies came calling.
he began his acting career in TV with That '70s Show, which he starred in from 1998 to 2006 a whopping 180 episodes.
He moved onto movies Coming Soon and Down To You but it was Dude, Where's My Car in 2000 that really brought him to everyone's attention.
But in 2003 he moved back to TV as he developed the show Punk'd, a practical joke show that aired on MTV.
Kutcher produced and hosted the show that played pranks on celebrities such as Justin Timberlake, Halle Berry and Kanye West.
The show ran from 2003 - 2007 and he juggled his acting career along with his Punk'd commitments.
In 2003 he starred in one of his best known role Just Married alongside Brittany Murphy. The movie was directed by Shawn Levy and followed a newly married couple.
Made on a modest budget of $18 million it's global gross of $101 million was a big success, despite it's negative review from the critics.
That same year he starred in My Boss's Daughter and Cheaper By The Dozen. More recently he has mixed and matched his roles moving from comedy to more dramatic parts such as The Butterfly Effect and Bobby.
But it was the comedy genre that brought him one of his biggest hits in 2008 when he teamed up with Cameron Diaz for What Happened in Vegas.
Set in Sin City, story revolves around two people who discover they've gotten married following a night of debauchery, with one of them winning a huge jackpot after playing the other's quarter.
The unhappy pair try to undermine each other and get their hands on the money, falling in love along the way.
The film was released alongside blockbusters Iron Man and Speed Racer in the summer of 2008 and opened at 2 behind Iron Man.
The movie went on to gross over $219 million worldwide, easily making back it's $35 million budget.
Kutcher returns to the big screen for the first time since What Happens in Vegas with his latest movie Spread.
In Los Angeles, Nikki is homeless, car-less and closing in on 30, but he's amoral, good-looking, and adept in the sack, moving from one wealthy woman of 35 or 40 to another, a kept boy-toy.
His newest gig, with Samantha, an attorney whose house overlooks L.A., is sweet, although it's unclear how long she'll put up with him.
Then Nikki meets Heather, a waitress. Is the player being played, or might this be love? What will Nikki discover?
And it looks set to be a busy 2010 for the actor with Valentine's Day and Five Killers on the horizon.
Valentine's Day sees Kutcher join the ensemble cast of Julie Roberts, Jamie Foxx, Bradley Cooper, Taylor Lautner and Anne Hathaway in a movie that follows intertwining stories of love in Los Angeles.
Five Killers is an action comedy coming up next year which sees the actor team up with Kathrine Heigl.
Spread is released 1st January
