Rachel Mc Adams

Rachel Mc Adams

Raised in St. Thomas, Ontario where her parents still live and daughter of a truck driver and a nurse, Rachel has kept to her modest small town upbringing never letting fame runaway with her.

Good film role choices have seen her display her commitment to acting, as well as managing to keep her private life private.

Rachel first came to the attention of movie directors and producers starring alongside ultimate wild child Lindsey Lohan in Mean Girls

Things could have gone downhill from there on, lets face it that was the last role Lindsey Lohan excelled at, however the same cannot be said for Rachel.

Instead of being typecast as the pretty dumb blonde that she portrayed and making the catchphrase "Boo you whore" common among all teenage girls, Rachel has gone on to land one big role after another.

Her heart-wrenching performance in the adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks' novel The Notebook  alongside Ryan Gosling, showcased her true ability to act.

The film saw Rachel play Allie, a rich, young girl who falls madly in love with a boy from the wrong side of the tracks. They are driven apart through a families discrimination on social classes differences.

After her worthy performance given in The Notebook film directors and producers sat up and started to take notice that this girl was something to look out for.

She then went on to star alongside Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson and Isla Fisher in the Wedding Crashers playing Claire Cleary, portraying the girl next door who cheats on her boyfriend.

Since then she has gone on to star in Red Eye, The Family Stone, Married Life, Lucky Ones and the journalist seeking the truth alongside Russell Crowe in The State Of Play.

Currently living in Toronto, Canada, Rachel spends her day riding round the city on her bicycle blending in with everyday life.

In 2007 McAdams and Kuhlmann started the website greenissexy.org with pal Didi Bethurum.

The site they offer tips on how to live greener, with McAdams recently reviewing green jeans and underwear.

Telling Vogue Magazine "I look at the world through a green lens now, but you can't make yourself crazy. That feeling of green guilt can be really inhibiting. It's about a changing mind-set, remembering to turn off the water when you are brushing your teeth."

Her down to earth attitude has led to McAdams's co-star in both Thomas Bezucha's The Family Stone and Roger Michell's forthcoming Morning Glory Diane Keaton sharing a few kind words about her.

She said the star is: "Such a brilliant actress-not like Meryl [Streep], but she has that kind of intelligence. That brain is substantial, and if you have that along with a face you can’t take your eyes off, it’s so compelling. It’s rare."

With Sherlock Homes out on boxing day and Morning Glory set for release next year it looks like Rachel is here to stay hand picking good film role one after another to showcase her true talent.
