To say that Robert Pattinson was popular would be a little bit of an understatement as Edward Cullen fever once again sweeps the globe with The Twilight Sag: Eclipse hitting the big screen.
Pattinson has become of cinema's biggest newcomers in such a small space of time and it's all thanks to a little role in some obscure vampire movie.
Yes the British actor landed the role of Edward Cullen in 2008's Twilight and he hasn't looked back since, amazingly it was Kellan Lutz who was earmarked for the role before turning it down.
But Twilight was the actor's first appearance on the big screen oh no as Harry Potter fans will recognise him from taking on the role of Cedric Diggory in Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix.
While he took on other roles in the likes of The Haunted Airman and The Bad Mother's Handbook for TV it was Twilight that made everyone, mainly the girls, sit up and take note.
And no one would deny that Edward Cullen was the role that has shot him to superstardom and made him the latest heart-throb to cover the bedroom walls of many a teenage girl.
Edward Cullen is a 108-year-old vampire who was changed in 1918 and still appears to be seventeen with the ability to read minds.
A high school student he falls in love with human Bella Swan, who has moved to Forks, to live with her father, putting her life in danger.
The movie did well at the box office grossing over $379 million but it's the latest movie New Moon that is really causing all the fuss.
Picking up where Twilight left off New Moon sees Bella and Edward's relationship grow until an incident at Bella's birthday party puts her in danger from Edward's own family.
In a bid to protect her Edward and his family move to Washington leaving Bella behind, Edward only appearing as a figment of her imagination.
New Moon went on to gross over $700 million at the global box office and was one of the most successful movies of 2009.
Away from the franchise Pattinson took on a very different role earlier this year with Little Ashes, in which he played Salvador Dali.
The movie Little Ashes is quite compelling looking at Dali's rise to fame and his eccentricity of later years and his friend Federico Garcia Lorca's fight for Spain's freedom and it's good to see the young actor mixing up his roles.
He has already enjoyed box office success this year with Remember Me, which sees him star alongside Emilie de Ravin, Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper.
The movie centred on two lovers whose newfound relationship is threatened as they try to cope with their respective family tragedies.
But this week sees him return to the role of Edward Cullen with The Twilight Saga: Eclipse as Edward finds himself in a love triangle with Jacob Black as they both battle for the affections of Bella.
Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge.
In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between Edward and Jacob - knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life...
And while Pattinson is set to return in Breaking Dawn, which will be split into two movies, he has plenty of other projects to keep himself occupied.
He has already completed filming on Bel Ami, which sees him star alongside Uma Thurman, Kristen Scott Thomas and Christina Ricci, and he is currently shooting Water For Elephants with Rees Witherspoon. Unbound Captives with Rachel Weisz and Hugh Jackman is also on the horizon.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is out now.
