Taylor Lautner In Abduction
You only have to whisper the name Taylor Lautner and the Twi-hards go hysterical for the teen pin-up; and quite frankly who can blame them.
The actor shot to fame playing Jacob Black in the Twilight franchise - turning him into a global superstar practically overnight.
But this week he is temporarily leaving the franchise behind and striking out on his own with new movie Abduction, which sees him team up with filmmaker John Singleton.
The movie is a thriller centred on a young man who sets out to uncover the truth about his life after finding his baby photo on a missing persons website.
Abduction sees him lead a movie for the first time with Lily Collins, Alfred Molina and Sigourney Weaver all also on the cast list.
Like so many actor Lautner kicked off his career in TV with the likes of The Berni Mac Show and My Wife and Kids before moving into movies with Cheaper BY The Dozen 2 and The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D.
But it is the Twilight Saga that has shot him to stardom, particularly New Moon where the character of Jacob really came into his own.
He moved into comedy last year as he joined the ensemble cast of Valentine's Day before returning to Eclipse.
This year marks the beginning of the end as Breaking Dawn - Part 1 hits the big screen where Jacob must come to terms with the wedding of Bella & Edward.
The finale has been split into two movies and we will have to wait twelve months for the conclusion of this hugely popular and successful franchise.
But with Abduction the young actor has shown that he has the ability to go and become an action star - and he does have some projects in the pipeline now that work on Twilight has come to an end.
Incarceron is one of the projects that he has on the horzion as he looks set to team up with Maria Juan Garcias.
