While we have been some treated to some fantastic movies in 2012 but there have also been some movies that have not been so great.
So as we do every year FemaleFirst is counting down out top ten worst movies of the year - and we kick off that countdown with Taken 2.
Now I have to admit that I was a little surprised when it was announced that a sequel to the 2008 was to go ahead - lets face it the end of the first movie was all tied up nicely.
This is by no means the worse movie that I have seen this year it was just incredibly disappointing as it could have been so much better.
Bryan Mills, the retired CIA agent with a 'particular set of skills', stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from kidnappers in Taken.
When the father of one of the villains Bryan killed swears revenge, and takes his wife hostage in Istanbul, Bryan uses the same advanced level of special forces tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers one by one.
This is a movie that you can kick back and enjoy as Istanbul looks fantastic on film and there are some great action moments.
But when you compare it to the first movie it doesn't even come close to capturing that same tension and excitement that made it such a great movie.
The main problem is the storyline it too similar to the first film and so it offers audiences very little that is new - which is a terrible shame.
Liam Neeson may have turned sixty but he is more than capable of taking on this kind of role and he is once again kicking some bad guy ass.
He is without a doubt the movie's saving grace as he shows that it is not just the young guns of Hollywood that can be the action hero.
The movie does descend into the ridiculous when you see Maggie Grace running across rooftops and throwing grenades and by this point you know that the movie has gone a tad too far.
There is just no tension or suspense and fans of the original will be left very disappointed.
