It's been all go in the world of movies this week with London and Rome both hosting their film festivals.

London enjoyed big names such as George Clooney and Wes Anderson grace the red carpet and is still in full swing.

But it's the projects in the pipeline that interest us at this point in the week as we round up all of the super exciting studio news.

- There have been many Sex and the City rumours flying around in recent weeks regarding casting a plotlines.

And it seems that the inclusion of a gay wedding in the new movie is another, although the characters involved were not revealed.

Nicholas Rodriguez, who is somehow involved with the storyline told People: "We shot for two weeks. It's a ginormous scene with a huge budget, and everybody is pretty much in it... all of the girls and their spouses, Willie [Garson] and Mario [Cantone], and another big surprise cameo, Liza Minnelli."

- Charlize Theron is reportedly being lined up to star in the new movie Mad Max 4.

She will take on the lead female role, according to E! Online, while Brit star Tom Hardy, who has had success with Bronson and RocknRolla, will replace Mel Gibson as Max Rockatansky.

However these casting s are yet to be signed off by the movie's fanciers.

- Viola Davis has bagged herself two new roles after her Oscar nominated turn in Doubt earlier i the year.

The first movie sees her team up with Zach Galifianakis for It’s Kind of a Funny Story, which focuses on a fifteen year old who suffers with  clinically depressed who checks himself into an adult psychiatric ward.

Up next for the actress is trust, which sees her star alongside Clive Owen and Catherine Keener in a film that focuses on child grooming on the internet.

- Director Ridley Scott has reportedly held talks with Oscar winning actress Angelina Jolie about starring in a Gucci movie.

The film will follow the story of Patrizia Reggiano and Maurizio Gucci, with Jolie taking on the role of Reggiano; who is now serving a jail sentence for paying to have Gucci killed.

The movie is expected to begin filming some time next year, however Fox is still searching for a writer to pen the screenplay.

- Vanessa Redgrave, David Strathairn and Monica Bellucci have all joined the cast list of new drama The Whistleblower.

The movie is based on the experiences of Kathryn Bolkovac, a Nebraska cop who served as a peacekeeper in post-war Bosnia and outed the U.N. for covering up a sex scandal.

Rachel Weisz is already on board to play the central role.
