I was already excited for Star Trek Into Darkness having enjoying J.J. Abrams' reboot of the franchise back in 2009.
But now I have seen the first trailer for the movie it looks set to be one of the biggest blockbusters of 2013 as it just has epic adventure written all over it.
As per usual Abrams has kept this project tightly under wraps - revealing just three seconds when he was on a U.S. chat show earlier this autumn - so the excitement around the first trailer has been growing and growing.
And it seems that Kirk and the Enterprise will face their biggest challenge yet while Benedict Cumberbatch looks to make the perfect villain.
Chris Pine will reprise the lead role of Captain Kirk while Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg and Karl Urban are all back.
Cumberbatch is the major new face on the cast list as he takes on a major baddie role for the first time.
His voice over on this trailer has a real menace to it and I am excited to see what he does with this very different role.
The action looks bigger and better than ever before while the visual effects, which Abrams always gets spot on, looks set to be some of the best this summer.
It would have been so easy for Abrams to capitalise on the success of Star Trek back in 2009 and release a sequel incredibly quickly but he has taken his time with this project - and from this first trailer it looks like it will pay off.
"When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organisation has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.
"With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one-man weapon of mass destruction.
"As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew."
Star Trek Into Darkness is released 17th May
