Jordin Sparks is set to make her big screen debut later this year with the release of her new movie Sparkle.
After a successful music career Sparks is following in the footsteps of a whole host of singers and spreading her wings into film.

Directed by Salim Akil the movie is set in the sixties and follows three sisters as the form and band and rise to fame.
Sparkle will be the first movie for Akil since Jumping The Broom after working in TV with series The Game.
But the director has brought together a great cast that includes Whitney Houston, this is the final movie that she worked on before her death, Derek Luke and Mike Epps.
Musical prodigy, Sparkle (Sparks) struggles to become a star while overcoming issues that are tearing her family apart.
From an affluent Detroit area and daughter to a single mother (Houston), she tries to balance a new romance with music manager, Stix (Luke) while dealing with the unexpected challenges her new life will bring as she and her two sisters (Carmen Ejogo and Tika Sumpter) strive to become a dynamic singing group during the Motown-era.
Sparkle is released 5th October
