The summer may have only just left us but we are already looking ahead to some of the movies that will be gracing the big screen this winter... and believe me it's going to be an action packed Christmas.
Sherlock Holmes took cinemas by story when it was released back in 2009 as Robert Downey Jr took over the role of the super sleuth.
The role brought him a Golden Globe while the film was met well by critics and audiences - so it may come as no surprise that a sequel is on the way.
Yes Downey Jr is back as Holmes while Jude Law will also be reprising the role of Dr Watson in what promises to be another exciting case for the pair.
Director Guy Ritchie is also back to helm the project, in what is his first movie since the 2009 film.
But there are a whole host of new character to breath live into the movie as we get our first real glimpse of Professor Moriarty - who will be played by the fabulous Jared Harris.
Noomi Rapace is also set to make the transition into English speaking movies as she takes on the part of Sim in the movie alongside Stephen Fry - while Kelly Reilly and Eddie Marsan are back as Mary and Inspector Lestrade.
Sherlock Holmes has always been the smartest man in the room... until now. There is a new criminal mastermind at large, Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris), and not only is he Holmes’ intellectual equal, but his capacity for evil, coupled with a complete lack of conscience, may actually give him an advantage over the renowned detective.
When the Crown Prince of Austria is found dead, the evidence, as construed by Inspector Lestrade (Eddie Marsan), points to suicide.
But Sherlock Holmes deduces that the prince has been the victim of murder - a murder that is only one piece of a larger and much more portentous puzzle, designed by one Professor Moriarty.
Kieran and Michele Mulroney have penned the script this time around while Susan Downey and Joel Silver are once again on producing duties.
Just like two years ago Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is set to be a rip roaring ride as Holmes and Watson are once again put to the test.
The chemistry between Downey Jr and Law is what made the first movie so successful and, from what I have seen from the trailer, we are set tog et more of the same.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is one of the movies that I am personally looking forward to watching!
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is released 16th December
